Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Angela Bellanger
Meet MSUM’s Director of Counseling Services, Angela Bellanger. Thinking outside the box is just one of the many things Angela and her team do for the counseling program and the students here at MSUM!
Start date: May 1, 2019
Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: I am a graduate of MSUM. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 1999. After an internship, I came back to complete my bachelor’s degree in social work and graduated in 2004.
Q: What is one thing that surprised you about MSUM?
A: Overall, it’s been very welcoming and warming. It’s just like home and everyone have been so gracious and helpful in many aspects and the students are so nice and so polite.
Q: What energizes you at work?
A: My staff and the students, both coming in with ideas. They come in saying, maybe we should do a workshop for this, maybe we should stay late for that. They all just think outside the box!
Q: How do you prefer to start your workday?
A: I have been getting up a little earlier and going for a 20-minute run. I have always run and really like doing it. I just really like starting staring my day with some exercise and also a cup of coffee.
Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: I would like to visit Italy. This past year, my daughter became friends with a foreign exchange student from Italy. She would spend a lot of time at our house and they soon became close. I would just love to see where she’s from and meet her family!
Once a Dragon, always a Dragon. We are happy you are a part of the #DragonFamily, Angela!
