Quality Matters & professional development opportunities for all
Are you interested in exploring Quality Matters? Have you explored a little and want to try some more? How about some additional professional development opportunities?
The Office of Online Learning has several to highlight:
Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) – A two week, asynchronous online course starting September 17 developing your knowledge, skills, and abilities with foundational concepts of Quality Matters.
Improving Your Online Course (IYOC) – A two week, asynchronous online course starting October 1 or November 5 working on an online course and applying foundational concepts of Quality Matters.
Designing Your Course for Student Learning – A three-week online course starting October 7 aligning objectives, activities, and assessments for a course you are designing in D2L Brightspace.
Assessment of Student Learning – A three-week course starting November 4 developing effective assessments and aligning them with learning outcomes in a course you are evaluating or creating.
WeTeach – An interactive, collaborative course intended for instructors who teach online or blended courses, develop their own online teaching and design skills, and share online teaching experiences and best practices. This course is for instructors who are new to online teaching. It is also for instructors looking to expand their skills, explore new ways to engage students, and use technology more effectively to save time. Quality Matters standards, technology tools, D2L training, best practices, and research will be woven throughout all modules. September 16, 2019-November 10, 2019. Synchronous weekly meetings are Mondays Noon-1 p.m. OR Thursdays 5:30-6:30 p.m.
