Annie Wood to speak at TEDxFargo
‘Poco Fuego’ steel drum band to perform
TEDxFargo 2019 takes place on July 25 at the Fargo Civic Center. This day will be a chance for our community to share ideas and experiences. There will be local, national and global thought leaders who will be sharing their ideas on the main stage to help solve challenges and create possibilities, including Annie Wood, MSUM associate director for student life. Annie’s talk is titled, “Finding Your Weirdo.”
MSUM’s own “Poco Fuego” steel drum band will perform as the closing featured event at TEDxFargo. Directed by Dr. Kenyon Williams, “Poco Fuego” is a small, five-piece offshoot of the full “Fuego Tropical” steel drum and world music ensemble that forms each fall at MSUM.
TEDxFargo wants to empower people to be solution-oriented, believing that ideas can change the way the world works. TEDxFargo wants to encourage you to listen to new ideas, find a topic that you’re passionate about, and then take action to protect those ideas so they can grow and flourish in the community and beyond.
