Dr. Juan Cabanela (Physics & Astronomy Department) was one of 15 participants in the American Astronomical Society’s Congressional Visit Day on March 13. He visited eight congressional offices (including the offices of Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, and Collin Peterson, our Congressman), advocating for continued funding for astrophysics research at NASA, NSF, and the Department of Energy. He also advocated for passage of a bill aimed at assessing and mitigating sexual harassment in science research.
