An unusual exhibit titled “The Kitchen Sink” opens Aug. 27 in MSUM’s Art Gallery and runs through Sept. 13. As the title of the show indicates, “The Kitchen Sink” is an eclectic exhibition of various collections belonging to local collectors in the community, including faculty members in the School of Art and other MSUM employees. The exhibit puts on display the fundamental human activity and nature of collecting eccentric, wonderful, curious, interesting, weird, and fascinating objects, from Legos figurines and Star Wars memorabilia to antique china and vintage photographs.
An opening reception is set for Thursday, Aug. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Art Gallery, located in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, contact Gallery Director Wendy Fuglestad at email@example.com.
