Behind the Seams
Monday, March 26 | 1-4 p.m. | Center for the Arts, Art Annex
How did your t-shirt get made? Who sewed your jeans? The garment industry is the world’s second largest contributor to climate change and employs millions across the globe for incredibly low wages. Visit Behind the Seams and watch garment workers while you learn about “fast fashion” and the labor and environmental issues of the garment industry. After visiting the factory, select a shirt from the boutique, then “pay” with your commitment to help create change, joining fellow attendees in creating a more just and environmentally friendly garment industry.
Free and open to all. Drop in anytime between 1-4 p.m. Co-sponsored by Dragon Entertainment Group, MSUM Women’s Center, Women’s & Gender Studies, and the Economics Program.
