Queering Sexual Violence & Intimate Partner Abuse Brown Bag for Faculty & Staff
Tuesday, Oct. 10 | 12:30-1:30 p.m. | LI 124
Women’s Center Coordinator and anti-sexual violence educator and activist Dana Bisignani will be offering this brown bag for faculty and staff. This workshop will examine how intersections of sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression, create specific challenges for those in same-gender and queer relationships when it comes to reporting or leaving abusive partnerships. We will disrupt the heteronormative scripts that still dominate discussions of sexual violence and intimate partner abuse, and discuss how we can best support those who might disclose such experiences to us.
A brown bag for students on recognizing the warning signs of intimate partner abuse in relationships will be held in the Women’s Center on Monday, Oct. 23.
