Last week, Planetarium Director Sara Schultz represented MSUM at the Great Lakes Planetarium Association annual conference. She attended a pre-conference workshop focused on live and interactive planetarium presentation as well as presented on current work with students to build an LED lighting system for the planetarium.

Among the many inspiring ideas taken from the conference are theatre performances under and utilizing the dome, opportunities for computer science students to get programming experience solving issues for planetarium software and hardware, increased audience interaction and live show customization, large group cooperative role playing gaming utilizing the dome, and GIS applications

If you are interested in learning more, have an idea you would like to try in the dome, or simply would like to come and see the space, feel free to contact her at schultz@mnstate.edu to schedule a showing.
