Colloquium Artist Talks: Stacey M. Holloway and Leigh Suggs
Wednesday, Sept. 14 | 4-6 p.m. | Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gallery
The School of Visual Arts at Minnesota State University Moorhead invites the public to the opening reception and Colloquium Artist Talks for visiting artists Stacey M. Holloway and Leigh Suggs. The reception will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 4-6 p.m., with the artist talks beginning at 5 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gallery.
Stacey M. Holloway received her MFA from the University of Minnesota in 2009 and recently became the Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013. Holloway’s work explores storytelling and ethology, constructing sculptural stills that represent anxieties and fears that collide with a world of ambiguous subconsciousness. Holloway has an active national exhibition record, showing work throughout the Midwest, South and East Coast of the United States.
Leigh Suggs recently received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. For this exhibition, Suggs will be creating works on paper that act as both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces, playing with viewpoints that are equal parts visual and cognitive. Suggs maintains an active studio practice, exhibiting in solo, two-person, group and juried exhibitions across the country.
Both exhibitions are sponsored in part by the Comstock Foundation in support of visiting artists and will be on view from Sept. 14 – Oct. 8 at the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gallery.
