Riewer Signs With Oettinger Rockets of Gotha Germany Pro A Division

Former MSUM men’s basketball standout Jordan Riewer has signed a contract to play for the Oettinger Rockets in the Gotha Germany Pro A Division.

Riewer will leave for Germany on Aug. 8 and begin training camp on Aug. 10. The team will play several preseason games before beginning the regular season on Sept. 28. The season is slated to last around nine months, depending on how the team does in the playoffs.

Oettinger finished fifth out of 16 teams in the league a year ago.

As a senior he averaged 16.2 points, 5.7 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field.

He was the NSIC Co-Player of the year and also earned NSIC All-tournament honors. He led the nation in free-throw percentage at 94.9 percent. He was second in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio. Riewer leaves MSUM with 1,382 points scored and has school career records with 470 assists and 226 three-pointers made.  He led the NSIC in three different statistical categories as well.
