Student Sierra Fosness won award at the Annual International Design Awards
Graphic design student Sierra Fosness won a prestigious international design award at the Annual International Design Awards (IDA) earlier this week. Fosness was awarded the First Prize Gold Award in the poster subcategory of the student print competition for her entry, titled “Human Rights Project.”
The poster advocated for Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. Fosness, a senior, chose the subject matter when she discovered an online poll that said 60 percent of Americans would not vote for an atheist presidential candidate.
According to its website, the IDA exists “to recognize, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in architecture, interior, product, graphic, and fashion design. IDA aspires to draw attention to the iconoclasm of design worldwide, conceptualizing and producing great work.”
