Film Alumnus Scores with First Feature
Film alumnus Kate Enge ’10 has made quite a splash on the festival circuit with her first feature, Efficiency. The film, which deals with a pair of irresponsible twin brothers struggling to keep their close bond intact while dealing with an unexpected family tragedy, was directed and co-produced by Enge. The twin brothers were played by Theatre alum Steven Molony, who also wrote and co-produced the film. Efficiency had its premiere at the prestigious Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles and also screened at the highly competitive Austin Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Narrative Feature. The film recently screened at the Accolade Film Festival where it received Awards of Excellence in the Feature Film and Leading Actor categories.
Efficiency was photographed by Film Studies alum Alex Welgraven ’10 and also involved the talents of a number of other MSUM Film & Theatre alumni including: Beth Moline, Mary Zantopp ’10, Maxwell Heesch ’10, Conor Holt ’13, Joey Kramer ’11, Nick Collins ’12, Patrick Thompson ’13, Ben Stommes ’08, Matt Mayala and Sarah Palm ’11. The film continues its festival run.
