It is Reunion Time!

Homecoming is a time when many alumni groups reunite.  The campus will be alive with reunions for graduates of the 60’s, fraternity, sorority, academic, athletic and student leadership groups. Alumni are drawn back to see faculty, coaches, advisors and those with whom they had the closest connection.  Your relationships are key to increased MSUM Pride, information sharing, referring potential students and giving back.

Does your department have an upcoming opportunity or interest in hosting a reunion? The alumni office can help you plan, promote and connect with Alumni & friends of your department or interest area. The most successful events require a year advance planning for alumni to save the date and get the word out. We are now planning 2015 events and beyond. Reunions are always most successful when the connection comes directly from the affinity group. The Alumni office can assist you in making these connections and spreading the word.

Throughout the year the Alumni office also organizes numerous local, regional and national gatherings for academic, social, geographic and special interest groups (ie. Retirees, new graduates, alumni travel, arts, recruitment and sporting events). We will share information and feedback from these events with you. Our goal is to increase engagement, connection and MSUM Pride.

Some of the ways we can help:

  1. Provide lists of names, addresses, and emails for your mailing and contacts.
  2. Promote your event on the Alumni calendar of events at www.mnstate.edu/alumni/
  3. Promote your event in social media – Alumni Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
  4. Promote your event in the monthly E-newsletters to 50,000+ alumni & friends.
  5. Send targeted emails on your behalf.
  6. Promote your event in the Moorhead magazine, assist with press releases, posters or other marketing  as applicable.
  7. Provide information such as contact cards, pledge cards, door prizes and give away items.
  8. Update alumni addresses, career news and interests for future use.
