Sue Severson, professor in the School of Teaching and Learning, traveled to Peru to provide professional development on the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the Spanish version of the Enderle-Severson Transition Rating Scale to the Ann Sullivan Center of Special Education (Centro Ann Sullivan del Peru, CASP). The CASP is recognized as Peru’s leading institution in the provision of services to individuals with disabilities across the age span. Dr. Severson was invited to visit with CASP alumni who graduated from the Supported Employment program and were currently working at area companies.

They spent 4 weeks immersed into the Spanish language, Peruvian culture, and local educational system. Mrs. Morken and Mrs. Wagner provided over 50 hours of English and American culture lessons to elementary and secondary Peruvian students and observed lessons taught by Peruvian teacher across the curriculum and grade levels.
