Rinita Dalan, Anthropology and Earth Science, and Geoarchaeology major Rebecca Wallace traveled to the Poverty Point State Historic Site in Louisiana over Spring Break to conduct investigations into a new mound discovered at the site. The Poverty Point site, composed of a semicircular arrangement of six earthen ridges and mounds over 3,000 years in age, is the 2014 U.S. nomination to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
