Red River Zoo showcases wolves in Feast or Famine event

Experience gray wolf feeding habits first hand

At 7 p.m. on Feb. 6 the Red River Zoo’s Feast or Famine event kicks off the month and gives visitors the chance to visually learn about wolf hunting and feeding behaviors.

The nocturnal creatures regularly practice their hunting skills through various exercises, including Feast or Famine, where the pack eats a full deer carcass. A 30-minute educational presentation starts the night, followed by the feeding.

There is a limited number of seats, so pre-registration is required. Call the zoo at 701.277.9240 to reserve a spot. Tickets for the event are $15 for members and $20 for guests. Students with a valid student ID will receive the $15 member price.
