15th Annual Community School Supply Drive & Distribution
MSU Moorhead has joined with other Fargo-Moorhead organizations to help support the 15th Annual Community School Supply Drive & Distribution, sponsored by the United Way of Cass-Clay (UWCC).
The MSUM school supply drive will run from Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 31 at 4 p.m., with distribution to children beginning on Saturday, August 10.
In 2012, 83% of all students who received backpacks and school supplies, self-reported that they were on free/reduced lunches. 4,599 children grades K-12 were equipped with a backpack and school supplies. Over 500 volunteers from businesses, organizations, and individuals donated a tremendous amount of supplies.
This year, the UWCC would like to reach and equip 53% (4,500) of the number of students on the free and reduced lunch program in Cass & Clay County with the tools they need to go back to school prepared and ready to succeed. With more than 8,500 children in Cass and Clay Countries who receive free and reduced school lunches there is still a tremendous need!
Please help solve this critical need in our community by dropping off school supplies on or before Wednesday, July 31st, in the red barrels located outside the Office of Human Resources – OWENS 214.
ITEMS NEEDED:
New Backpacks*, Pencil pouches*, Scissors*, 1″ 3-ring binders*, Markers*, Colored Pencils*, Erasers, pens, 2-pocket folders, Notebooks (college & wide ruled), Loose leaf paper
