Wally Open fundraiser set for June 22
You are invited to play in the 2013 “Wally Open” Saturday, June 22 at Moorhead’s Village Green Golf Course. In its third year, this casual event is a fundraiser for a scholarship fund at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
The Dave Wallace Scholarship was created in honor of Dave Wallace, a well-known local artist who graduated from MSUM, spent part of his career as a full-time potter, and for the last 20 years served as the university’s art director.
The scholarship fund will allow a $500 scholarship to be awarded each year to an MSUM ceramics student. The goal is to raise $10,000 for a permanent endowment.
The entry fee for the “Wally Open” is $25 (tax-deductible) plus green fees and cart fees (optional). Recruit your favorite playing partners and enter as a foursome or you can enter individually and be paired with others. There are hole prizes and an abundance of door prizes, including a ceramic piece created by Dave Wallace.
Contact John Tandberg at 218.233.1128 or jtandberg@msn.com to register.
If you are not a golfer, please consider making a contribution at this time to the scholarship fund in honor of Dave Wallace. You can sponsor your own virtual foursome for only $100.
You can donate to the fund by calling 218-.477.2497. You can also donate online at donate.mnstate.edu. From there, choose Make a Donation and then the College of Arts and Humanities where you can select the Dave Wallace Fund.
