MSUM will pilot in a common text reading program in the fall of 2013. Please join Alison Wallace and Donna Brown to learn more about this exciting opportunity on Wednesday, May 1 in the Faculty Development Center, Library 125. Drop in anytime between 4 – 6 p.m.
Refreshments will be served.
The book selected is “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” by Sherman Alexie. The book covers a wide variety of topics including diversity, identity and self-esteem, poverty, racism and discrimination, family relations, gender differences, sexuality, role models, bullying, and alcoholism, to name just a few. A study guide will be provided.
Relevant speaking engagements are currently being explored for the fall semester. In future years, a working group will select the text. If you would like your class to be part of the inaugural year of this exciting program, stop by on Wednesday or contact either Alison or Donna.
