Zhimin Guan participated in artist’s residency in China summer 2012
Zhimin Guan, a professor in the Art and Design Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead, participated in “Spark-Chinese Contemporary Art Invitational 2012.” He also joined the International Artist’s Residency in conjunction with an exhibition held in Xichang and Chendu, both in Sichuan province, China, in July. The invitational art residency featured 35 artists from China and the United States.
During the three-week residency, Guan created several oil paintings and drawings, two of which were collected and displayed at the Dangtang Today’s Art Museum. The art exhibition grand opening is December 22.
Also in July, Guan’s paintings and a story about him were featured on a theme titled “ Precious Life, Precious Men,” published in Reili Magazine, one of the most popular fashion magazines in Beijing, China.
