MSUM Marathon Volunteers Needed

Want to support the Fargo Marathon AND Show your Dragon Pride? Join us May 9 at the Dragon Aid Station.

In the past we have had a Dragon Cheering Section during the Fargo Marathon. This year we will be doing an aid station. It should be a lot of fun, but it is also a bit more intense than a cheering section. It’s an important part of the marathon that provides water and power aid for thousands of runners! We need to get Dragons to our station! We are sharing the station with the Cobbers, and we definitely want to outnumber them!

Because it’s important that we have enough people to set out the drinks, we have set up a work schedule. You are welcome to come as early and stay as long as you like, but we would like a commitment for a specific time. If you know middle, high school or college students who want to help, sign them up!

Invite your friends—we need lots of volunteers!

7:30 – 10:00a.m. (Set up and mixing power aid)

8:00 – 10:30

9:00 – 11:30

10:00 – 12:30

11:00 – 2:30 (wrap up and any clean up)

Our station is on 3rd Street and 9th Avenue North in Fargo. Due to the flood, the marathon is only in Fargo this year. The course is a 1/2 marathon course; the full marathon runners will run the same route twice.

If you can help out (we would love your help) please respond to Betty Gunderson at gundersn@mnstate.edu or 477-2497. Include your T-shirt size and we will bring you a Dragon T-shirt!

Thank you for your consideration!

Go Dragons!
