Chang-Seong Hong presents Buddhist lecture March 10

Chang-Seong Hong, Philosophy, will present alecture on “Empty Persons and Morality–A Buddhist Approach” Thursday, March 10 at 4 p.m. in Center for Business CB 105. Please notice the time change: it’s 4 p.m., not 7 p.m. as previously scheduled. Hong’s lecture is a part of the 2010-2011 MSUM Deans’ Lecture Series. 

“Buddhists believe that we do not have soules (selves). Enlightenment is possible only when we realize the truth of non-self. But can we be moral if we do not even believe that we have souls? This lecture discusses how enlightenment can improve our morality.”
