Information meetings for the Pacific Northwest Ecology Summer Travel Course will be held Thursday, Feb 17 at 7 p.m. and Friday, Feb 18 at 12:30 p.m., both in Hagen 404.

The focus of this DC 10 course is on energy and the environment in the Pacific Northwest. Experience the temperate rainforest, ocean tide pools, salmon hatcheries, wind farms, tidal power research projects, nuclear waste issues, and much more while exploring the diverse ecology and environmental issues in the state of Washington. The cost for travel (airfare, ferry, and van), food, and lodging (tents and cabins) will be approximately $1200. Tentative dates are July 3rd through July 13th, 2011 for the travel portion of the course. Several meetings and assignments will be scheduled before and after the trip.
