Free Service Learning and Technology Webinars Feb. 9 & 12th

These webinars appear to be free (sponsored by Center for Teaching and Learning) and viewable on your office computer. Looks like registration closes on February 8th for the Feb. 9th presentation and Feb. 11th for the Feb. 12th presentation. Next Tuesday and Friday CTL is sponsoring two webinars in collaboration with Minnesota Campus Compact. The topics are service learning in online courses and civic engagement through technology. Alumni, Friends Basketball Night Feb. 12

Dragon Alumni and Friends Basketball Night is Friday, Feb. 12. Everyone
wearing RED or a Go Pink T-shirt will be admitted for $1. Children 12 and under are free. There will be door prizes, and free Dragon cookies and tattoos. Join other Dragon alumni and cheer on the Dragons!

Moss conducts inaugural Georgia Orchestra

Kirk Moss, associate professor of music and director of orchestral activities and string education, guest conducted the inaugural Georgia All-College Orchestra on Friday, January 29. Held in Savannah in conjunction with the Georgia Music Educators Association Annual In-Service Conference, the event attracted students from ten different colleges and universities. While there, Moss also presented a showcase conference session for his publisher, Alfred Music. Entitled, “The Perfect Method Book: Fact or Fiction,” the session described Alfred’s newest method book series for school bands and orchestras. Moss is a member of the author team for the series.

MSU Moorhead hosts visit days Feb. 15 & 20

Minnesota State University Moorhead will host a Preview Day for students interested in attending MSUM Monday, Feb. 15 in the Comstock Memorial Union. The session begins at 8:30 a.m. with check in starting one half hour prior. Interested students can tour campus, meet with students, faculty and campus representatives, learn about academic majors and student services, and have refreshments in the student union. An abbreviated afternoon Preview Day option is also available, with check in beginning at noon. Click headline for more information.

DragonFrost Office Decorating Competition

Does your office, department or college have Dragon Pride? Show it off by
participating in DragonFrost’s annual office decorating contest. Simply register on the Frost website and give the campus a chance to see your excellent skills. Judging takes place on Wednesday, Feb. 10th. Winners will be announced at halftime of the Men’s Game on Friday, Feb. 12th.
