Jennifer Tuttle film accepted to Canadian film festival

89 Second Productions, a production company co-founded by Jennifer Tuttle, Theatre Arts, had a short documentary film, The Collector, directed by Ryan Kipp, accepted to the Canadian Film Centre’s World Wide Short Film Festival. As a co-producer, Jennifer will be traveling to Toronto the first week of June for the screening and promotion of the film at the Festival. While there, she will also be participating in master classes, such as “Director-Actor Relationships,” and “The Poetics of Transmedia Storytelling” throughout the week.

Film Studies profs to exhibit new work at Athens film and video festival

Film Studies professors Ray Rea and Kyja Kristjansson-Nelson will be exhibiting new work at the 2010 Athens International Film and Video Festival. Both works combine elements of documentary, animation and experimental practice. Rea’s work, Cat’s Cradle, combines 16mm animation and analog rotoscope techniques with digital effects to tell a visual story of trial, error, and forgiveness. Kristjansson’s 30-minute documentary, Sveit, was shot in a rural village on the north coast of Iceland. Click headline to read more.

CSA spring social is May 7

The Council on Staff Affairs Spring Social will be Friday, May 7 from 9-11 a.m. in CMU 101. We will raffle a Marlowe Kullish rocking horse and a 2010-2011 general parking permit. The CSA spring apparel sale will be from Monday, May 3 through Friday, May 14. Samples will be available in the Records Office beginning May 3. Apparel will be delivered before Memorial Day Weekend.
