MSUM seeks Homecoming coordinator
Do you know students with excellent event planning skills and Dragon pride? Encourage them to apply for a Homecoming Coordinator position.
MSUM Homecoming and the Office of Student Activities are now accepting applications for the 2010 Homecoming Coordinators. Applications are due on Jan. 19th at 10pm and students can apply at www.mnstate.edu/osa
Homecoming is a campus wide event the builds bonds between students and the university, promotes school spirit, encourages participation in campus activities and provides a chance to show Dragon Pride!
Past coordinators have used Homecoming as an internship in a variety of majors. Duties include:
* Creating new events
* Choosing the Homecoming theme and designing Homecoming apparel
* Developing co-sponsorships
* Creating the schedule for Homecoming week
* Planning board meetings
* Updating the Homecoming web page
* Work with alumni foundation on organization reunions
* Soliciting prize donations from local businesses
* Working with City of Moorhead
* Working with the MSUM Athletic department
* Assisting in developing and maintaining program budget
* Developing marketing strategies to publicize events
The role of Homecoming Co-coordinator requires the ability to work with a large and varied number of people, energy, patience and a willingness to learn.
