The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County at the Hjemkomst Center is
proud to announce the opening of A Woman’s Perspective on Work and Play,
beginning Monday, January 25 through Tuesday, March 30.

A Woman’s Perspective (AWP) is an un-juried, multimedia art exhibition,
featuring visual, literary and performing art by emerging and established
regional artists. This year’s theme is Work and Play, including a special
supplemental exhibit on art aprons as a symbol of the intersection of work and
play.

In collaboration with AWP, a Meet the Artists Public Reception will be held on
Sunday, February 7 with support in part by AAUW-Fargo/Moorhead, Prairie Public
and Quilters’ Guild of North Dakota. The reception will include art, music,
readings and refreshments by Nichole’s Fine Pastry.

In addition, the Performing and Literary Art and International Women’s Day
Reception is on Sunday, March 7. The event is in collaboration with Women’s
Studies of Minnesota State University Moorhead and will feature music, theatre,
film, readings, visual art, apron revue and soupline. The soupline will begin at
12:30 p.m., followed by the program at 2:30 p.m.

Both events are free and open to the general public.
