Eurospring Exhibit opens Tuesday

EUROSPRING 2009: SCENES ALONG THE JOURNEY, a photo exhibit, will open on Tuesday, September 15, in Livingston Lord Library’s circulation lobby. The photographs were taken by students who participated in MSUM’s Eurospring study abroad program, March 17-May 12. 2009. “Fuego Tropical” Steel Drum and Salsa Ensemble to perform for FM Chamber of Commerce.

MSUM’s own steel drum and salsa ensemble “Fuego Tropical,” directed by Dr. Kenyon Williams, has been invited to perform this Tuesday evening, Sept. 15 at Trollwood Performing Arts School in Moorhead for the FM Chamber of Commerce member appreciation night. The ensemble will perform from 6-7:30 p.m. rain or shine for the Chamber of Commerce members and their families in a festive, carnival atmosphere celebrating the accomplishments of the region’s businessmen and women.

Dragon women in action Tuesday

The Dragon volleyball team plays its first home match Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at Nemzek Fieldhouse. The women battle the University of Minnesota-Crookston in the first conference game of the season. They enter the match with a 10-3 record. Come cheer on the Dragons!

Important message for Minnesota residents

Students graduating from high school after January 1, 2009 and are Minnesota residents have until September 23, 2009 to apply for the Minnesota Achieve Scholarship. Eligible students who enroll full time (15 credits) at a university in Minnesota during the academic year immediately following their high school graduation can receive a one-time scholarship for use in their first academic year ranging from $1,200 to approximately $4,000 depending on financial need.
