MSUM Hosts Terrorist Mind-Set Panel Discussion on Sept. 11
MSUM will host a panel discussion on “Understanding the Terrorist Mind-set” from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 in Weld Hall Glasrud Auditorium. (Note that the venue has been changed from previously published information.)
MSUM psychology professor Derick Dalhouse will moderate the community remembrance event. The panel will include: Clay Routledge, NDSU Department of Psychology, presenting “What Motivates Suicide Bombers? Emerging Research on the Psychology of Ideologically Driven Self-Sacrifice”; Kathryn Gordon, NDSU Department of Psychology, presenting “An Interpersonal-Psychological Explanation for Suicide Bombing”; and Olivia Melroe, MSUM Department of Psychology, “Threat Assessment.”
Funded by the Dille Fund for Excellence, the event is free and open to the public. Co-sponsoring departments include Political Science, Psychology and the International Studies Program.
