In order to assure that blood will be available when and where it’s needed, you can help by donating at MSUM’s next blood drive on Monday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The United Blood Services Blood mobile will be parked on the campus mall, south of the library. In the summertime, blood centers really feel the heat. When patients need blood but the supply of blood is low, the pressure mounts quickly. Blood centers can only keep their commitment to patients if the community provides the basic ingredient – blood. Unfortunately, summer donors are in short supply. There are many reasons for this: vacations, fishing, camping, barbecues – all the things people like to do in the summer.
Another great source of blood donors is from colleges and high schools, which are typically lost as blood drive sponsors in the summer.
