Jan Maxwell ’75-’80 (theatre), a five-time Tony-nominated actor whose performances spanned stage and screen, comedy and drama, died February 11 following a longtime battle with cancer. MSUM theatre arts students excel at KCACTF

Seventeen Theatre Arts majors traveled to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in Des Moines, Iowa, last week and came home with commendations in the areas of performance, directing, management, design, and devised theatre. The School of Media Arts & Design was well represented at this year’s Twin Cities Film Festival, with ten Film/Animation students in attendance (all members of the Film Loop Club) who spent a long weekend watching award-winning films and attending industry workshops and three films screened, showcasing ten MSUM Film alumni.

Cats ~ June 23-27 The final show of the season is the hit musical Cats. The show runs June 23 to 27 on the Hansen Theatre stage. Cats is one of the longest-running musicals ever. Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, it tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles. Cat’s introduced the song standard “Memory.”
