Leigh Wilson-Mattson, a 2009 Communication Studies graduate, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship for the coming year. She departed for Malaysia Dec. 31, 2010 and will work for 10 months in the East Asian country. Mary Thrond, Languages and Culture, was named president-elect of the Minnesota Council on the Teaching of Languages and Cultures at the annual conference in October in Minneapolis. The organization represents more than 3,000 language educators in Minnesota.
Kate Shorma, 2010, received the 2010 Outstanding Student Teacher award from the Minnesota Council on the Teaching of Languages and Cultures (MCTLC) at an annual conference in October in Minneapolis.
