The Chicago-based Kyle Asche Organ Trio comes to the Fargo-Moorhead community Thursday, Sept. 9, to teach at MSUM and perform in a popular jazz club in downtown Fargo. The Kyle Ashe Trio features guitarist Kyle Asche, organist Melvin Rhyne and drummer George Fludas. The Trio continuously performs at many famous venues in Chicago, including the Green Mill, Hothouse, Andy’s Jazz Club, Pops for Champagne, and Pete Miller’s.
The Simon Rowe Trio and the Simon Rowe Organ Trio will be performing Fridays at 8 p.m. at Studio 222 Broadway, a downtown Fargo jazz venue. Cover charge is $10, $5 for students. Greg Abate, jazz saxophonist, flutist, and composer, will conduct a masterclass and clinics when he visits MSUM Thursday and Friday, March 4-5. He will present a music business clinic at 3 p.m. Thursday; a jazz and saxophone clinic at 9:30 a.m. Friday; and a convocation and master-class at 3 p.m. Friday, all in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Fox Recital Hall. These events are free and open to the public. At 8 p.m. Friday he will perform with The Simon Rowe Trio at Studio 222 at 222 Broadway, Fargo.
