Mary Stone, School of Business, presented her paper entitled “Performance Differences Between Online and Traditional Students in Principles of Accounting” at the Midwest Business Administration Association International annual meeting in February 2013. The research provided support for Simonson et al’s (1999) Equivalency Theory by comparing the course assessment scores for the two groups of students.
Sheri Erickson, School of Business, presented the paper “Using Communication Theory to Analyze Corporate Reporting Strategies: A Study of the Health Care Industry” on Feb. 28 at the MBAA International Conference in Chicago. Co-authors were Marsha Weber, Dean of the College of Business and Industry at MSUM and Zach Lukes, MSUM finance graduate.
Two MSUM students, Whitney Jensen and Gavin Doppler, received awards for reaching the finals in all events they entered at the Minnesota Collegiate DECA Career Development Conference held Feb. 26 – 28 in Mankato. Understanding the Impact of Interruptions, Social Hierarchy and Perceived Task Complexity on User Performance and Perceived Workload ” accepted for publication in Decision Support Systems Journal, an ‘A’ ranked journal.
