Pres. Emeritus Roland Dille Legacy Award Remarks

President Emeritus Roland Dille and James McLaughlin were honored at the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting with the Legacy Leader Award. This is the third year for the award, which recognizes the important role and contributions of long-time leaders in shaping and serving the Chamber, the community, and the region. Dille is MSU Moorhead’s longest serving president (1968-1994). He received standing ovations before and after his address, which is printed here in its entirety. Dille and McLaughlin named 2009 Legacy Leaders

The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Fargo Moorhead has selected Dr. Roland Dille, former president of MSU Moorhead, and James R. McLaughlin as recipients of the Chamber’s 2009 Legacy Leader Award. The Legacy Leader Award recognizes and emphasizes the important role and contributions of long-time local leaders in both shaping and serving the Chamber, our metropolitan community and region. Recent death

Professor Emeritus Otto Ursin, age 90, died Wed., Oct. 21, 2009, in Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND. Otto spent his teaching career (Technology) at MSUM until his retirement in 1982. A Memorial Service was held on Oct. 27. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Trinity Lutheran Church-Building for Mission Fund.
