College students in Moorhead now have a little more incentive to bag sand. The city of Moorhead’s “Bags for Books” promotion will give students a $10 gift card to their school’s bookstore for every two hours that they bag sand. Moorhead teacher Ronda Buysse has an unusual gig. She works with the district’s youngest pupils, usually ages 3 or 4. Those are also the youngsters poised to face some of the steepest hurdles in their school careers, and it’s Buysse’s job to give them an early momentum. Buysse, Moorhead’s latest Teacher of the Year, is a veteran of Moorhead’s Early Intervention Services, the district’s team fulfilling a state mandate to educate children with disabilities starting at birth. Krista McCleary, a junior at MSUM, was killed in a car accident yesterday
afternoon in Moorhead. Krista was majoring in Health Services Administration with a minor in Management. Krista was an active member of the Health Care Leadership organization and also involved with Campus Crusade for Christ on our campus. Krista was a 2006 graduate from Fargo South and was living in south Fargo. At this time, funeral arrangements are pending. When we receive information on the funeral arrangements or if there will be any memorial event on our campus, we will send the notification on Dragon Digest.
