Minnesota legislature expands use of accrued sick leave

MSUM Faculty & Staff: The Minnesota legislature recently passed a law, which expands employees’ entitlement to use accrued sick leave benefits. Effective August 1, 2013, state employees may use paid sick leave for reasonable periods of time as the employee’s attendance may be necessary due to the illness or injury of the following family members:
