Intellectbooks has invited Dr. Anthony Adah of the CADT Department to guest edit an issue of “The International Journal of Media and Cultural Politics (MCP).” The theme of the summer 2014 issue is Indigenous Film and Media. Intellect is a UK-based publishing company dedicated to the fields of creative practice and popular culture.
CADT film professor, Anthony Adah, presented a paper, “Indigenous Blogging: Patterns and Functions,” at the Midwest Popular Culture/American Popular Culture Conference (Oct 11-13). The paper examined common themes and rhetorical styles of blogs dealing with representations of Indigenous peoples in films from Canada, New Zealand and the USA.
Professor Anthony Adah of Cinema Arts & Digital Technologies was at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) to give a master workshop Feb. 4 to Minnesota teachers, college instructors, and Minnesota Department of Education representatives on how to use film in middle and high school classrooms.
Cinema Arts Professor Anthony Adah presented a paper, “Food ways: Prolegomenon to Comparative Gustatory Aesthetics in Postcolonial Films,” at the recent Midwest Popular Culture/American Culture Association Conference in Milwaukee, Wis., Oct. 14-16. Adah is the area chair for Indigenous Studies and an at-large executive council member of the Association.
