Curtis Gudmundson to receive MSUM’s L.B. Hartz Award

Curtis Gudmundson, founder of Milestone Hotel Investments, will receive MSUM’s L.B. Hartz Professional Achievement Award. Gudmundson started his entrepreneurial pursuits during college, first as a rock band promoter and later as the owner of Mama Mia’s Pizza in Fargo. The two L.B. An Evening of Dance May 7

Join the FM Dance Repertory Theatre and Theatre Arts Department for a dynamic dance concert featuring the work of student dancers and choreographers on Friday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for Arts Hansen Theatre. Sue Humphers-Ginther, students attend Minnesota gerontological meeting

Sue Humphers-Ginther, Sociology and Criminal Justice, and four senior gerontology students (Marissa Maiers, Alison Nash-Gerlach, Jennifer Pippin-Anderson, and Muna Shrestha) attended the annual meeting of the Minnesota Gerontological Society in Brooklyn Center April 30. This year’s conference theme was “Be the Change: Innovative Models for an Aging Population”. Keynote Speaker, Dr. Rick Moody, Director of Academic Affairs for AARP, spoke on “Reminiscences of the 21st Century”, which offered pessimistic as well as optimistic scenarios for America as an aging society. In several breakout sessions, students learned about current research and how it translates into practice in our rapidly changing world of aging services.

BFA exhibit on display through May 13

An MSUM student art exhibit will be on display April 29-May 13 in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts gallery. The exhibit is in partial fulfillment of students’ bachelor of fine arts degrees.
