Fourteen works of art by artist and art professor Carl Oltvedt will sell during a silent auction intended to raise money for the Carl Oltvedt Juried Student Award Endowment. Oltvedt is retiring from MSUM after 32 years of service.
Linnea Fitterer, who earned a BA from the School of Visual Arts with an emphasis in Art History in 2014, has just been promoted to the position of Public Art Manager for the Cincinnati based organization called ArtWorks. In this role, Fitterer will oversee a variety of new and existing public art projects from conception to completion.
Photography student Grace Clark was selected to participate this summer in an undergraduate internship at the renowned George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, N.Y. Brad Bachmeier’s ceramic work “Up North” chosen for Idaho Falls, 7th Annual National Juried Exhibition. This annual juried exhibition is organized by the Idaho Falls Arts Council (IFAC) and exhibited at the Willard Arts Center in Idaho Falls, ID. The exhibit runs through May 31, 2015. Artists working in all mediums throughout the United States were eligible.
An exhibit on display at the Rourke Art Museum (521 Main Ave., Moorhead) features five emerging artists in the region who all happen to be graduates of MSUM. The exhibit, titled “Raised on the Red,” opened Friday and runs through May 31.
