Junior music major Coen Hakeboom has been awarded the Dorothy Sewall Hector Scholarship. This piano competition is held every spring and is open to all undergraduate piano students in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Coen is a student of Dr. Terrie Manno.
MSUM students gave back to their communities in a big way this semester by becoming volunteers with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, where they helped low-to-moderate income families who needed assistance preparing their 2015 tax returns.
MSUM College for Kids & Teens has been awarded $15,000 in grant support from Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC) for Summer 2016. This is the fifth year in a row that the program has applied for and been awarded money from LRAC to support their K-12 courses in the arts.
Congratulations to Troy Schmidt, Coordinator of Academic Intervention, who has been elected the Region 6 Chair within NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. Being elected to this leadership position is a tribute by Troy’s peers and a recognition of his significant professional contributions to and excellence in the field of academic advising.
