Sherry Lee Short, Professor in the School of Art, has been named as an Alice Paul Award Honoree. The Alice Paul Award is an historic list of women who have worked to end men’s violence against women in the United States. The Award was generated by the Feminist History Committee of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism.
Leah Oien, a senior majoring in both Gerontology and Social Work, has been awarded a Gerald Bloedow Scholarship from the Minnesota Gerontological Society. Merrie Sue Holtan, Communication and Journalism, earned first place awards in sports writing and home writing in the North Dakota Professional Communicators’ state competition. She earned a second place in sports writing and an honorable mention in feature writing. The first place awards will move to the National Federation of Presswomen competition in Birmingham, Ala., this fall.
