First place winner in Freedom of Speech PSA Contest BY DANIELLE REBEL MSUM student Naoya Uchida won a $3,000 scholarship in the annual Freedom of Speech PSA Contest, a national competition for college communication students sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF) and the Broadcast Education Association (BEA).
The School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership is pleased to congratulate Katherine Granstra, a Senior in the Health Services Administration program, on winning the national Richard J. Stull Student Essay competition. Granstra’s winning essay is entitled: “Nurse against Nurse: Horizontal Bullying in the Nursing Profession.”
Khulude Bukhari, a Counseling & Student Affairs graduate student with an emphasis in School Counseling was awarded a full scholarship from the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM).
Senior Nikkie Nouwen is currently trending (getting a high number of views/votes) out of more than 11,500 photos submitted to National Geographic’s “Your Shot” photography contest under the assignment, “The Walk.” Nikkie’s photo features the MSUM campus on a foggy day. Senior Music Industry student Adam Lien landed a full-time job at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the MGM Park in Orlando, Fla., as an audio/entertainment technician. He graduates from MSUM this semester, and starts at Disney in late January.
