Mass Communications students receive Mark of Excellence Awards

The following entries have been selected to receive Region 6 Mark of Excellence Awards.  The actual place awarded will be announced at the awards ceremony April 12-13 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bloomington, Minn. First-place regional winners will automatically advance to the national round of the competition. A list of regional winners will be posted on spj.org the Monday after the conference. Congratulations!

Sheri Erickson presents paper at MBAA International Conference

Sheri Erickson, School of Business, presented the paper “Using Communication Theory to Analyze Corporate Reporting Strategies: A Study of the Health Care Industry” on Feb. 28 at the MBAA International Conference in Chicago. Co-authors were Marsha Weber, Dean of the College of Business and Industry at MSUM and Zach Lukes, MSUM finance graduate.

Mass Communications students win awards

Several MSUM Mass Communications students received awards at the 56th annual Addy Awards held in Fargo Feb. 22. This statewide advertising competition, conducted by the American Advertising Federation of North Dakota (AAF-ND), recognizes the most creative advertising in and around North Dakota.
