Cody Brandt’s research paper, “Impact of Oil Boom on Employment and Wages in North Dakota,” has been accepted for publication in the Undergraduate Economic Review in 2014. The Undergraduate Economic Review is a peer-reviewed journal focused on high-quality, undergraduate research. Dr. T. J. Hansen served as Brandt’s faculty research mentor.
Kyle Salk, a sophomore Physics major, was offered and has accepted a position as a summer researcher at the University of Maine’s Laboratory for Surface Science and Technology. Iwnetim Abate, junior physics student, recently accepted an internship with IBM Reserach-Almaden located in Silicon Valley in San Jose, Calif. Abate will be working on increasing the energy densities of Li ion batteries for electric vehicles. Cody Brandt, Economics major, was accepted to the Master’s in Applied Economics program at Illinois State University Urbana-Champaign. Cody was offered a full scholarship and an assistantship worth well over $45,000. This is the fourth consecutive year Economics majors from MSU Moorhead have been accepted to this very prestigious master’s program.
