The New Faculty Orientation to the Library and Instructional Technology Services will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8 in the Library room 222. You will meet librarians and the Director of Instructional Technology, learn some basics of our library’s systems for research, and have a chance to ask questions. Carol Hanson Sibley, Library, has been selected by the Children’s Literature Association to serve on a committee to establish a new children’s book award. The “Phoenix Picture Book Award” will honor a picture book published 20 years earlier that did not receive any major awards at the time of publication.
The Curriculum Materials Center, located on second floor of the Library, is currently featuring displays of new books and media recently added to the collection. This includes kits, games, DVDs, fiction, picture books, teacher resources, folklore, poetry, science, social studies, and other nonfiction topics.
