The Tri-College Film Library, which has served MSUM, NDSU, and Concordia for over 30 years, will be closed at the end of Fall semester, 2009. This was a budgetary decision from the Tri-College Commissioners and approved by the TCU Board in late Spring, 2009. Click link to read more.
The library has acquired Oxford Reference Premium Online, an extensive collection of online reference tools. Included in this package are bilingual dictionaries, quotation books, abbreviation dictionaries and subject encyclopedias in a wide range of areas. All are published by Oxford University.
The library’s online system, MnPALS, will be down from 5 p.m. on Friday, August 28 until approximately 8 a.m. on Monday, August 31. There will be a slight interruption in library services during this time.
Pam Werre, Library, had an article published in the July 2009 issue of the Journal of Scholarly Publishing (40:4) titled “The University of Minnesota Press.” This article covers the history of the University of Minnesota Press from its beginnings in 1925 to the present. Werre was also appointed co-chair of the ACRL/EBSS Reference Sources and Services committee. The charge of this committee is to produce publications, sponsor programs, and conduct projects to improve academic library reference services in education and the behavioral sciences.
