Paul Harris, History, gave a paper entitlted “An African American Looks at African Customs: Alexander Camphor’s Missionary Story-Sketches and Folk-Lore from Africa” and Raymond Rea, Film Studies, had his film “Straightboy Lessons” screened over the summer at Festival IdentiT.
Minnesota State University Moorhead and the Small Business Development Center, along with US Bank, will host a Women’s Business Seminar on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the university’s Comstock Memorial Union Ballroom. Keynote speaker will be Jill Blashack Strahan, founder and CEO of Tastefully Simple. In 1995 she started the company in a 1,200-square-foot shed with no running water, using a pool table as a packing station.
Dr. Allan Chapman from Oxford University’s Wadham College presents his annual public lecture on “From Moon Men to Black Holes: How 400 years of the telescope has re-shaped our sense of reality” at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23 in Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Science Lab 104. Refreshments will follow in the SL atrium.
