Robert Thorwaldsen, MSUM Building Services Manager (retired 1989), passed away September 27, 2009, at age 88 at the Lincoln Park Assisted Living, Detroit Lakes. Private Family Graveside Services will be held later in October at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, has been entrusted with the services.

Roland G. “Rollie” Holsen, father of David Holsen (Management Analyst Supervisor, Building Services), passed away September 26, 2009, at age 92 in MeritCare’s Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, from 4-6 p.m., at the Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
MSUM, Concordia, and NDSU faculty are invited to the Tri-College Service-Learning Workshop, which will be held at MSUM on Thursday October 8. The event will be held from 1:30 – 4:45 PM in the CMU Ballroom. Participants will hear about student experiences with Service-Learning, and discuss formulating learning outcomes and assessment tools for S-L.
