MSUM offers Understanding Generational Poverty for credit/non-credit

MSUM is offering a course on Understanding Generational Poverty this spring semester. The course will begin on Saturday, February 27 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm with an introduction to the history of poverty, research, and how the condition of poverty can affect learning and work. It will continue Thursday evenings, March 4 & 11, 2010 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm with an in-depth look at those topics. Click headline for more information.

Mini-satellite Exhibit on the work of an Armenian Immigrant Artist

The Historical & Cultural Society of Clay County at the Hjemkomst Center is displaying a mini-satellite exhibit of Armenian immigrant artist Norick Astvatsaturov. This mini-exhibit displays photographs of Astvatsaturov’s work, including a Reliquary Icon and Bible Cover, as well as a ten minute documentary that was made about his life and work. The Hjemkomst Center is located at 202 First Avenue North in Moorhead. The exhibit ends April 7.

MSUM presents Hamlet Feb. 24-27

MSUM Theatre presents Hamlet February 24 through 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gaede Stage. “To be, or not to be?”
 is one of the most famous questions ever asked by one of the most famous theatrical characters of all time. African Drum & Dance Workshops Feb. 27-28

An African Drum and Dance Workshop, with guest artists Fode Bangoura, master Guinean drummer/dancer and Whitney McClusky, Duniya Drum and Dance Studio, and featuring the Minnesota State University Moorhead Percussion Studio, will be held Saturday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts.
